My son plays Illawarra U/12 rep basketball and having the Hawks gave him something to work hard for. He would always say one day mum, I will play for them.
We could not afford season tickets but got the games whenever we could. It was good just knowing that we could have a family night out and enjoy watching and supporting a local team.

I grew up on the coast, lived in Wollongong for many years and love the Hawks. I have been shattered by the possibility of their demise, particularly difficult living in WA for the past four years and only being able to see the boys in action once or twice a year on their trip to Challenge stadium.
